4/26/05
- Beau has been in Washington this week with his
classmates from school. This is the first update to
the web site since it's inception. To date Beau has
raced in the MMRA touring race at Nashville Motorplex
Speedway on March 19th. Beau quailified 2nd fastest
and started fifth in the 50 lap feature race, due to
the invert draw. he drove a very smart race and kept
focused on a good finish. When the checkered flag
waved, Beau finished 3rd.
4/27/05 - Beau will return from his class trip
tommorrow and we will start preparing for the upcoming
race next weekend at the Jeffersonvile Sportsdrome.
The race will be a AMCS, MMRA, and Kentuckiana minicup
points race. This race was suppose to have been run on
April 22, but due to bad weather is was postponed
until this coming weekend. We look forward to a great
season and want to give special Thanks to all our
sponser for their support. If you get a chance to
visit or use any of their services, please tell them
you seen them on Beau's car and/or website. THANKS to
all our fans as well!
5/1/05 – We just finished unloading the race car and
equipment, after a day of racing at the Jeffersonville
Sprotsdrome. The day started out very good, the car
was fast off the trailer. Beau was so pleased with the
car he opted not to go out for the second practice of
the day. He started on the outside of the front row
for the heat races and took the lead coming out of the
first turns and never looked back. He went on to win
the race. Due to some technical problems after the
heat race Beau had to start at the tail of the field
in the feature. After just a few laps beau made his
way to the top five.
We talked before the feature and decided to go out in
the feature and run under control and make our way to
the front. Beau used his head through out the race and
picked car after car off to make his way all the way
up to third before the checked flag fell. Given his
starting position we fill very fortunate to finish
with a top three in a national qualifying race.
Our next race will be in two weeks down in Nashville,
Tennessee at the Music City Motorplex Speedway, which
will be another national qualifying race.
Thanks to all our fans that were at the track today to
support a cheer Beau to a good finish, especially
Mary, Angela, and Ronnie Zipp. Beau also wants to
thank his aunt Kathy for being there to support him!
5/2/05 - We want to Thank Joe and Kathy Huber and
family for inviting us to the farm this coming Mothers
Day weekend and set the car up on display, come join
us for some fun and GREAT food. If you need direction
or information call the farm & Resteraunt at (812)
923-5255. SEE YA on the FARM!
5/10/05 - It was a great weekend at the Huber Farm &
Restaurant. First we would like to thank Joe Sr., Joe
Jr., Bonnie, Kathy, and the rest of the family for
letting us participate in one of their biggest weekend
on the farm. We had a Great time at the derby function
and enjoyed showing the car and trailer during the
derby function, as well as the Mothers Day
celebration. Thanks to all who attended one or both
days. We look forward to seeing everyone at the track
and again on the farm. Pictures of the car on display
are forthcoming.
5/11/05 - We will be working all week on setting the
car up for this coming weekends national quailifing
race at the Music City Motorplex Speedway in
Nashville, Tenn. on Sunday afternoon. Beau and I will
be attending the ARCA race this weekend with Frank and
Bill Kimmel and their team at the Kentucky Motor
Speedway. It should be a very exciting weekend.
5/16/05 - We returned from the Motor City Motorplex in
Nashville, TN last night about 11:30pm. Beau had a
fairly good weekend. We struggled early in the day
with a loose problem on the car. After working with
the setup during the two practice sessions, we were
able to get a better handle on the car. Beau started
third in the heat race and finished third. In the
feature he started fifth and after a first lap
incident, he went on to finish fifth. Bill and Taylor
Webb accompanied us to Nashville this weekend and
Taylor drove very well in both the heat and the
feature races, Finishing second in the heat and third
in the feature. Overall Beau and Taylor represented
the Kentuckiana region very well in Nashville and we
are proud of them. There is a race next weekend at the
Riverview Speedway in Carthage, TN, at this time we
are discussing possibly attend that race. The
Riverview race is the first scheduled AMCS race of the
year. Thanks to all our GREAT sponsors.
5/18/05 - Beau and I just finished setting up the car
for this coming weekend race at Riverview Speedway in
Carthage, TN. We are looking forwrd to runnig at
Riverview, this is ine of Beau's favorite tracks to
race on. The race is at 7:00pm CST on Saturday night.
5/19/05 - Well it looks like we will be staying home
this weekend. Unfortunatly the Riverview race has been
canceled.
5/24/05 - We are working on the car today/this week to
get ready for the national quailifing race at
Mansfeild, Ohio this coming weekend.
5/30/05 - We returned home yesterday from Mansfield,
Ohio. It was a long trip for just a few laps of
practice. Mansfield Motor Speedway was a very nice
facility. We were very good on our setup. During the
first practice session, we were one of the fastest
cars in the field. Unfortunately it started raining
after the practice session, and the race was canceled
shortly there after. At this time we are waiting to
hear from MMRA to see if the touring race will be made
up. The next tour race will be on July 9th in Tulsa,
Ok. At this time we have not decided if we will be
attending this race.
6/5/05 - It was a very hot day at the Sportedrome
today, in more ways than one. Te car was fast off the
trailer and practiced very well. Beau started third in
the heat race and in the first turn of the first lap
was bumped and tangled with a couple of cars. The
damage was pretty substantial and he was not able to
complete the heat race. After extensive repairs Beau
started fifth in the feature and raced his way to the
second position. The car developed a bad push by the
end of the race and he finished third, not bad with
the damage the car sustained in the heat race. After
calming Beau down after the heat race, we decided that
we would just go back to the shop and make the car as
good or better than it was! We want to thank Billy
Webb for helping us put the car back together after
the heat race, it just goes to show there are good
people even in competitive situations. Hopefully our
body man will have our backup body ready this week, so
we can have it on the car next weekend.
6/12/05 - Well another rain out! We worked all week on
getting the car back together, only to wacth it rain
on race day. It has not been fully decided yet, but we
may put an open car together and try it out. We want
to thank Rocky Glover for helping us out, with
providing us with some needed parts to put the car
back together. Unless the schedule changes, we do nto
have another race until July 10 at the Sportsdrome
Speedway.
7/1/025 - It has been a while since our last update,
not much racing lately. We have been helping Bill Heil
and his son Billy get their car ready to race with the
young guns at the Sportsdrome. It will be nice to see
a new team start racing with us. Hopefully more teams
will join in the fun. We are always willing to help
anyone wanting to get started. There are many other
teams out there willing to help as well.
7/11/05 - Beau turned 14 yesterday and had a very good
birthday. Beau won both his heat and feature in the
MMRA and AMCS regional race at the Sportsdrome.
Special Thanks goes to Frank Kimmel for doing an
outstanding job of spotting for Beau during his races.
Beau learned a lot from Frank. The day started out
kind of rough when the chain came off during the
practice session. Once we put the chain back on the
car had trouble starting, Frank to the rescue and got
the car started for us before the heat race. The rest
of the day went picture perfect with Beau doing an
outstanding job driving the car.
7-26-05 - Sorry for the delay in updates. We finished
Billy Heils car last night in the shop and he is now
ready to go racing, we wish him well and look forward
to racing with him and his dad Bill. Our car is ready
for this weekends (Saturday) national touring race at
the Sportsdrome. We understand that Buddy Merz may be
returning to the track this weekend and want to wish
him good luck as well! See you at the track!
8-29-05 - We returned form the East Grand National
race last night. It was a very long weekend. We
arrived at the track on Thursday, unloaded the cars
and began to practice. The car was very good right off
the trailer. We had a little problem with our backup
car and did not practice with it on Thursday. Bill and
Billy Heil traveled to the track with us and did not
have a very good start to their weekend. After running
three laps during the Thursday practice, Billy had
trouble in turn four and the car hit the wall, bending
the rear axle and right front suspension. We work that
evening and first thing Friday morning putting the car
back together in time to practice and qualify that
day.
Beau qualified third fast of the fifteen car field.
Due to the invert Beau started on the outside of the
front row for the feature. The first caution came on
lap twenty-five, involving Billy Heil and another car
in turn four. When Billy spun he end up baking into
the outside wall. After the track personnel arrived at
the scene, they attempted to push the car back to the
pits with the wreaker. Seeing that the wreaker was
causing more damage to the car it was waved off and
Billy pushed the car to the pits from that point on.
After arriving back to the pits, Billy collapsed and
the ambulance responded and transported him to the
hospital. It was determined that he had separated hid
right shoulder in the crash. We hope his recovery is
quick, and wish him luck.
Racing resumed as soon as the ambulance left the
track. At this time Beau had fallen to fourth place.
after a few more laps he began to work his way back to
the front of the field. On lap 33 the leader were held
up by some lap cars on the back stretch and Beau made
a great move to the inside of the field and was in
second place on the inside of the third place car
going into turn three. When they entered turn four the
third place car was on the outside of Beau and forced
him into the inside wall. This caused the chain to
misalign and it came off the drive sprocket and he was
unable to resume the race. Beau was very disappointed
and it resulted in a bad finish in the field. Going
into the race Beau was third in the national points
and had an outside shot at the national championship.
At this time the national points have not been
updated, but it looks like Beau should still be in the
top five in the nation, even with the bad finish.
As any race fan knows the fastest car does not always
finish in first or up front. This sport takes a lot of
luck as well. Anyway, we will prepare the cars and
resume racing at the local track. Thanks to all those
that helped us prepare for the national event and we
look forward to seeing them at the track.
9/9/05 - Well we have had a couple of weeks off since
our last race in North Carolina. We have been working
very hard in the race shop to prepare two cars for
Beau to finish the season out with. Beau will be
competing in both the future star class and the open
class the last two races of the year at the
Sportsdrome. We believe this will be very good
experience for Beau and help him to decide what he
wants to do next season. We want to really thank Bob
Pullen and Cory Varner for providing the open car for
Beau to drive the next two races.
9-22-05 Last weekends races at the Sprotsdrome were a
first for Beau. He ran both classes during the day. In
the future stars class, Beau started on the inside of
the third row for the feature race and was able to
take the lead about three laps into the race. Beau
held the lead for five laps, before the handling on
the car started going away. He finished fouurth in the
race and goes to the final race on October 22 with the
lead for the AMCS reginal championship. In his debut
in the open class, Beau was very cautious in the heat
and finished sixth in the eight car feild. The heat
race finish started Beau seventh in the feature. Beau
drove hard in the feature and finished sixth once
again.
10/18/05 - We raced at the Jeffersonville Sportsdrome
last weekend. Beau started fourth in the heat race and
finished third. With his third place finish in the
heat he started third for the feature. Within the
first couple of laps he moved into the second position
and held on to the spot to the end. We have one race
left in the season, which will be at the Sportsdrome
on October 29. We go into the last race of the season
tied for the AMCS championship. We will be working
hard this and next week to improve the car even more
to make sure we have a better than average shot at the
championship.
10-31-05 The season has ended! Beau’s last race of the
season was Saturday night at the Jeffersonville
Sprotsdrome. The evening started out very well. Beau
was defiantly one of the fastest in the practice
sessions.
After drawing a nine for starting position in the heat
race, Beau started last in the seven car field and
finished the race in third place. Beau was scheduled
to start third in the feature, but after the heat race
He became very ill, we contacted the paramedics at the
track and they examined him in the pit area. After
their examination they determine he has carbon
monoxide exposure and told us it would be better if he
did not compete in the feature race. Unfortunately,
this took the chance away from Beau to win the AMCS
championship for 2005, at this time it looks as if
Beau will finish third in the AMCS championship.
Last but defiantly not least, we want to Thank our
sponsors and fan for a GREAT 2005 season! We look
forward to continued partnership with each of our
Sponsor in 2006.
If you go to the photo gallery, you can see the new
Legends car Beau will be racing in during the 2006
season.
